Love’s Independent Funeral Directors, Stafford

Loves Funeral Directors Stafford

Recently opened in Stafford town centre, Love’s Independent Funeral Directors, have a people centred approach that perfectly matches the ethos of Celebrant Steve. Housed in a stunning location, Love’s Funeral Home cares for your loved one upon their death, welcomes family and friends to say their final goodbyes, and can even host intimate funeral ceremonies. Owned by Managing Director Stuart Love, and business partners Lesley and Chris, their aim is to combine traditional values of support, service, and empathy, with a modern approach to arranging funerals, where anything is possible.

About Stuart Love

Managing Director, joint owner, and Funeral Director, Stuart Love is the namesake and face of Love’s Independent Funeral Directors. Following a career of 7-years with West Midlands Police, while also owning a chauffeuring company, Stuart developed a passion for the funeral industry following the death of a fellow chauffeur. Initially being offered the role of Funeral Director in Stoke-on-Trent, during the two-years that he worked there he gained vast experience in all areas of the business and eventually carried out the day-to-day running of the funeral home.

Stuart lives with his lively Border Collie ‘Neo’. It was socialising Neo as a puppy, during socially distanced lockdown walks with Lesley and Chris that the ideal of Love’s Funeral Directors was born. Having always lived in Staffordshire, and with a long career working with others and the public both within the Police force and as a chauffeur Stuart has an array of skills that are invaluable as a funeral director. He has always been passionate about supporting others, and this is clearly visible as he guides people through the difficult process of arranging the funeral of a loved one.

 Primrose Cottage

Housed in the stunning Primrose Cottage, Mill Street, Stafford, Stuart described finding the new home for Love’s Independent Funeral Director’s as “uncovering a jewel in the Crown”. Dating back to 1610, with a distinctive thatched roof, Primrose Cottage is an icon of Stafford town centre. Prior to opening their doors, the cottage has been lovingly restored, maintaining the integrity of the beautiful building while creating a modern and welcoming funeral home.

Upon entering Primrose Cottage, you will find a bright, welcoming reception area. With an open-door policy, Stuart is usually available with the offer of a cup of tea and the opportunity to chat. Whether you have recently lost a loved one, are interested in the funeral business, planning ahead for your own funeral, or just want a little a company, Love’s Independent Funeral Director’s and particularly Stuart is ready to welcome you inside.

Within the cottage the team has created Woodlands Rest; this area of the building provides space for people to visit their loved ones in privacy, spend time together as a family and say their final goodbyes before the funeral. This area can also be used for intimate funeral services as required. There is also a purpose-equipped space where the person that has died is cared for ahead of the funeral service.

Services Available at Love’s Independent Funeral Directors

Organising a funeral service can be a difficult task that Love’s Independent Funeral Directors aim to make as straightforward as possible while being as unique as the person that has died. Offering a fully comprehensive service, Stuart and the team offer a range of packages and additional services. One of the driving forces for Stuart in setting up the business was that as an independent funeral director he could provide extremely personalised service and can organise bespoke features that may otherwise be unavailable. Some of the services available are discussed in more detail below, however, you can find out more on the Love’s Independent Funeral Directors website

  • Organising cremation or burial
  • Funeral transportation
  • Booking an officiant
  • Ordering funeral stationery
  • Headstone and memorial design
  • Catering

Traditionally, the role of a funeral director is to care for the deceased, transport the body, and help family and friends with funeral arrangements including completing legal paperwork, booking a funeral service venue, and arranging the cremation or burial. Love’s Independent Funeral Directors do all of this and much more. There are standard packages available including an attended funeral service and direct cremation. However, for a completely bespoke service, you can amend the options accordingly. Likewise, traditional funeral transport is available including a top of the range hearse and 7-seater Mercedes limousine. However, for the extra special touch Love’s Funeral Directors can also organise a horse-drawn or motorcycle hearse.

Funeral Officiant

Stuart works with locations across Stafford when arranging a funeral. Whether a religious, humanist, celebration of life or traditional secular, Love’s Independent Funeral Directors can not only book the location but also assist with finding the right officiant. Choosing the right person to conduct the service is extremely important. In the case of church services the minister will conduct the ceremony, however, at a local crematorium or another venue, there are more options including the service being taken by a family member or friend or using a celebrant.

Celebrant Steve has a strong reputation for his people-centred approach to delivering a funeral service. His ethos matches that of Stuart, and like Stuart, he too supports families in Stafford during the difficult time of organising a funeral. About Celebrant Steve, Stuart says:

“I have never worked directly on a service with Steve, but I have heard he conducts a very professional and personal service for the family & friends of the deceased. He also offers comfort and expertise in grief and has a vast amount of knowledge regarding death.”

To book Steve as your celebrant you can contact him directly, or of course, ask Stuart to contact him on your behalf.

A Comprehensive Service

In addition to the traditional services provided by a funeral director, Stuart and his team can assist in organising everything from stationary to headstones. Working with national and local businesses Stuart can ensure that every detail of the funeral service, wake and memorial are taken care of. This level of dedicated service alleviates stress for bereaved families during their time of need. Patrons of Love’s Independent Funeral Directors can opt for as much support as is required. From simple direct cremation to a lavish service and wake, Stuart is happy to assist in any way possible. There is a list of additional services on the website, but Stuart is always ready and willing to take on a challenge, for a bespoke funeral service your imagination is the limit, and Stuart will do all that he can to make it a reality.
